Chapel Hill Bedroom
As we look at trends, we see white and 2-tone product still dominating the casual Traditional category. Inspired by finish and designed with softness, we created Chapel Hill. All cases have been softened by bowing the fronts with bent plywood drawers. Made of Elm veneers and Poplar solids, we paint the bases white and distress the product by sanding the mouldings and edges of the product to wear thru the paint. Next, we hand-rub glazes and burnish with dry-brushing, to accentuate the lines and mouldings. Bases are finished in aged-Cottage White while tops are finished in a Sandy Ridge Elm. We used an old world black-iron ring pull for all drawers. The Bed features a shelter-footboard, with linen padded fabric that is trimmed with small-head upholstery tacks. The headboard is segmented into 3-upholstered panels and is padded for comfort.
The cases are large with a Breakfront-dresser of 68” that features 9-drawers for storage and the Drawer Chest has 5-drawers. Lower row drawers of both the Dresser and Chest utilize an aromatic cedar bottom. A functional Nightstand with 2-drawers and a wireless charging device mounted under the veneer top. A USB port on the back allows for charging a tablet or other device. All drawers are made with solid wood drawer boxes and English dovetail construction. The 45mm full-extension slides offer the best and most smooth glides available in furniture.
