Chapel Hill Dining

As Made of Elm veneers and Poplar solids, we paint the bases white and distress the product by sanding the mouldings and edges of the product to wear thru the paint. Next, we hand-rub glazes and burnish with dry-brushing, to accentuate the lines and mouldings. Bases are finished in aged-Cottage White while tops are finished in a Sandy Ridge Elm.  We used an old world black-iron ring pull for all drawers.

The Trestle Dining table features a harp-shaped trestle base that supports the floating top. The table is 76x42 and extends with geared-slides to 96x42 with 1-20”leaf.  We created a larger sideboard with a bowed-breakfront and added glass doors for display and a center-shelf with slats for wine storage on one side, or flip-it-over to have a display shelf. Two drawers at the top allow for storing other serving tools. The Oval back dining chairs add softness to the room and are fully-finished in the Sandy Ridge Elm. We fully upholstered the seats with no exposed wood rails and padded the inside of the oval backs with a linen fabric.                                      All drawers are made with solid wood drawer boxes and English dovetail construction. The 45mm full-extension slides offer the best and most smooth glides available in furniture.
